Neoscream's Painting Table: Fantasy February 2017

Welcome to another Neoscream's Painting Table. This week I have for you all some Fantasy figures. These are some stuff from Dungeon Saga or stuff painted for use in Frostgrave.

Next week will be some more Dungeon Saga figures.

Neoscream's Gaming Week

The Others: 7 Deadly Sins

On Monday I went down to Wargames Workshop MK for a game of The Others: 7 Deadly Sin. Bob was running it and Michael and Wai-Yin turned up to play too. Bob was playing the sins and choose to use his Geed stuff, as it was all painted up. It was a long game and mistakes were made (like Bob forgetting that the hobo acolytes could deactivate upgrades when they are summoned back from the dead), but was very enjoyed by everybody. Wai-Yin managed to win the game for us when her Vampire character sacrificed her life by running into a room full of several Hellfire Club members and managing to roll enough hits to kill the two remaining targets we needed to kill. We will have to try it again when Bob has painted up another Sin.

HeroClix

On Thursday I went to York House for some games of HeroClix with Darren S, Michael and Adrian. The scenario was the same as last week's, but this time we had to use the rival. As I used Wolverine last week, this week I was using Sabertooth. As we seen a lot of Marauders teams lately, I decided to build a Weapon X team who were:

Sabretooth (031 Marvel Uncanny X-Men) 75
Omega Red (042 Marvel Uncanny X-Men) 90
Weapon X Scientist (007a Marvel Deadpool) 40
Weapon X (012 Marvel Deadpool) 91
Agent Zero (026 Marvel Deadpool) 112
G.W. Bridge (041 Marvel Deadpool) 68
Meltdown (027 Marvel Xplosion) 23
=499 points

On the first game, I was up against Michael who was using a Brotherhood of Mutants team with Magneto as the Icon. I sadly lost this game. Also, Darren S won his game against Adrian.

On the second game, I was up against Adrian who was using a New Mutant team with Wolverine as the Icon (was themed due to the Uncanny ATA). I Managed to win this game. Also, Darren S won his game against Michael.

On the third and final game of the day, I was up against Darren S who was using a Justice League team with Batman as the Icon. I got white washed by his team sadly. Also, Michael won his game against Adrian.

Next Time

I should be playing Vanguard (and may some Force of Will) at Wargames Workshop MK today. On Sunday I might be playing some computer games with Richard, Darren H and Simon. Most likely Left 4 Dead or Warhammer Vermintide. I will be running KDM on Monday evening. Also, HeroClix should be happening on Thursday evening at York House.

Well until next time, until all are one with the Lantern Spark.

Neoscream's Painting Table - Terrain Part Two February 2017

Hi everyone and welcome to another "Neoscream's Painting Table" post. This week post I have for you all some more terrain. There was meant to be a second castle wall, but sadly I have somehow miss placed it. It is one of those things where you always see it until when you need it and then you cannot find it. When I do find it is will most likely be in a backgroup of a photo.

Next week's post will be the first of two random Fantasy posts.

This Gaming Week

Kingdom Death Monster (Wargames Workshop MK)

On Monday evening, I went down to Wargames Workshop MK for some of KDM. This week there was five of us. Myself, Adrain Michael, Bob and Wai-Yin. I wanted to play so I decided to use the 5+ survivors home rules I made. Sorry, the one in the back of the rule book is too nasty.

The office rules are that the Monster gains one Speed token and two strength tokens max of six players. This meant that the Prologue White Lion would be dealing Server Wounds to characters with each hit.

My rules are the Monster gain two health from each survivor over four that is taken off before AI cards and one Speed token for every two survivors over four. Only four survivors may act during a turn (not including Survival Actions) and no Survivor can skip two turns. I was running it as the maximum Endeavours earn was four. But I will change this to you earn Endeavours equal to the number of Survivors returning minus the number of departing survivors over four.

We managed to get two Showdowns done this week. The first was the prologue Whiter Lion. It too longer than what I thought, it did not help with waiting for Wai-Yin to turn up. We did not lose any survivors any. We built almost a full set of rawhide and three Bone Daggers.

We then hunted a level one Gorm. The hunt really screwed us over like I have been founding it has been doing lately. Adrian's character was heavily wounded on most locations. We managed to defeat without using any survivors. However, Adrian's character suffered from broken ribs. Due to time, we rush the settlement phase, building only a Shield and a Sword from the Gorm resources. I realised as I am writing this we forgot to roll on Gorm Climate. I must remember to do this before we start the next game.

On a bit of personal KDM news, the Pledge Manager for 1.5 is finally up. God this will be expensive. I am still on the bench if I go for the hard plastic board or not. I would be nice to get another board. However, its $100 and the money would be best spent on more expansions or saved.

HeroClix

On Thursday I went down to York House in Stony Stratford for HeroClix. This was the first round of two of our Icons special. 500 point, three actions. Pick an Iconic rivalry (eg Captain America and Red Skull, Superman and Lex Luthor). Your team must have one of these characters and no other Iconic characters. I decided to go with Wolverine in an Alpha Flight team who were:

Wolverine (001 Marvel Wolverine and the X-Men) 100
Puck (010 Marvel Invincible Iron Man) 50
Guardian (011 Marvel Invincible Iron Man) 100
Aurora (012 Marvel Invincible Iron Man) 75
Northstar (013 Marvel Invincible Iron Man) 75
Shaman (040 Marvel Invincible Iron Man) 92
=492 points

In the first game, I was up against Adrian who was using a Marauders team with Sabertooth as the Icon. Sadly I lost. My dice rolls were crap. Also, Darren S won his game against Michael.

In the second game, I was up against Michael who was using an X-Men team with Professor X as the Icon. I managed to win this game. Also, Adrian won his game against Darren S.

In the third and final game, I was up against Darren S who was using an Injustice League team with Joker as the Icon. Like normal, Darren S won. Luckily it was not a white wash as I took out over half of his team. Also, Adrian won his game against his brother Michael. It was a Mutant Massacre.

The next game will be the same but you must use the other character. So it will be Sabertooth for me.

Next week

I should be playing The Other: Seven Deadly Sins with Bob and Wai-Yin and hopefully HeroClix on Thursday.

That is it for this week's post. Until all are one with the Lantern-Spark.

Neoscream's Painting Table - Terrain Part One February 2017

Hi everyone and welcome to another "Neoscream's Painting Table" post. This week post I have for you all some terrain.

Next week's post will be the second of two Terrain posts.

This Gaming Week

Kingdom Death Monster (Simon's)

On Friday evening last week, I went down to Simon's with Richard and Darren H for a game of KDM (Kingdom Death Monster). We were up against a level two Lion Knight this time. With how over-powered Richard's character was, we managed to win this fight without losing anyone during the Showdown. However, he had to burn his once in a Life Time re-roll from Survival of the Fittest to prevent his character from dying from the post-Lion Knight event.

Kingdom Death Monster (Solo)

On Saturday I manage to get time to do a solo game of KDM. I hunted another level two White Lion. I am currently hunting White Lions as I am after some Golden Whiskers. During the hunt, the party took a crap ton of event damage. Sadly I lost the survivor Vanille due to blooding. She had very little armour and started the Showdown with half of her locations at wounded due to the event damaged suffered during the hunt. I sadly still did not gain any Golden Whiskers which I was after.

Fleet Commander

This photo of Fleet Commander was taken from the web and not from the
games we played as I did not take any photos sadly.
On Monday I popped down Wargames Workshop MK from a game of Fleet Commander with Bob. We managed to get three games in as the game was pretty fast. Sadly I did lose all three games. I might point Richard to this game when the new edition it comes out as he is always eyeing up space ship games.

HeroClix

On Thursday I went down to York House in Stony Stratford for HeroClix. This was the last round of the Villains special we been doing. It was 'The Wrath of the Villains'. 600 points, four Actions. Figures with Battle Fury can choose one of either Charge, Flurry, +1 Damage or +1 Attack each turn. I decided to go with a Frightful Four (Six) team who were:

Thundra (012 Marvel Incredible Hulk) 88
Constrictor (039 Marvel Deadpool) 110 + Sinister Twelve (ATA) 4 = 114
Dreadknight (035 Marvel Invincible Iron Man) 106
Electro (021 Marvel Amazing Spider-Man) 82 + Sinister Twelve (ATA) 4 = 86
Taskmaster (048 Marvel Chaos Wars) 139
She-Thing (025 Marvel Secret Invasion) 50
=583 points

In the first game, I was up against Darren who was using a Red Lantern team. Like normal he won the game, but at least I managed to take down a third of his team. Also, Adrian shockingly won his game against his brother Michael. This was a shock as Adrian made a massive mistake and brought a 500 point team instead of a 600 point team.

In the second game, I was up against Michael who was using a Masters of Evil team. I managed to win this game. We have found Masters of Evil are terrible against other villain teams, oddly.

In the third and final game, I was up against Adrian who was using a Sinister Syndicate team. Shockingly I lost this game.

Next week

Sadly I will not be doing the Cardfigtht Vanguard Tournament on Saturday (Tomorrow) due to problems at work. However, I should be doing KDM with Adrian, Michael, Bob and Wai-Yin and hopefully HeroClix on Thursday.

That is it for this week's post. Until all are one with the Lantern-Spark.

Thursday 2 February 2017

Neoscream's Painting Table - Dreadball February 2017

Hi all and welcome to another "Neoscream's Painting Table". This week's theme is DreadBall for the second week running.

Next week's post will be the first of two Terrain posts.

This Week's Games

I'm trying a new format for this to hopefully make it clearer.

Cardfight Vanguard

On Saturday I went down to Wargames Workshop MK for a Cardfight Vanguard tournament.I was planning on entering the sneak peek for the new Touken Ranbu -ONLINE- set, but both Wai-Yin and a new player, Katherine brought all the sneak peek sets. WTF. C'est la vie. LOL. So I ended up playing in the main tournament. I decided to go with my Cosmic Hero deck as I have been using Angel Father too much lately. It was a four round tournament followed by a top four playoff.

On the first round, I was up against Jordan who was using an Aqua Force deck. Sadly I his round. When on the second round, I was up against Wai-Yin who was using a Pale Moon deck. Sadly I lost this game too. On the third round, I was up against Blake who was using a Spike Brothers deck. I managed to win this round. On the fourth and final round, I was up against the newbie Katherine who was using an Aqua Force deck. I managed to win this game too.

Somehow with only two wins, I managed to get into the top four. This was due to the fact that only Andrew won more than two games. In fact, he won all four rounds. In the semi-finals I was up against Wai-Yin and Andrew was up against Jordan. I made to cream Wai-Yin in our rematch. She nicknamed my deck as Great Nature Police due to the sheer number of +4,000 my cards were giving each other. Hang several Clans/Sub-Clans have that ability. In the finals, I was up against Andrew who was using a Gear Chronicle deck. Sadly he defeated me. It did not help to all day I suffered from poor pulls that resulted in needs to G Assist. For coming second, I managed to win four boosters of GB-07. Sadly I have been suffering a lot of bad luck with pulls from Cardfight Vanguard boosters and got nothing over a single R card. This includes the two boosters of GB-08 I brought, which I did not even pull any Genisis cards. C'est la vie.

Kingdom Death Monster (WWMK)

On Monday I went down to Wargames Workshop MK for a game of Kingdom Death Monster. Adrian could not make it this week, but luckily Wai-Yin could make it and this planning on joining us more often.

After the previous week's we were down to seven survivors. However, we had four problem survivors. One could not gain or spend Survival due to a disorder. One could not learn or use Fighting Arts and Weapon Proficiency. One was retired due to an event from the previous week, and one had just one arm, plus I though they had the Flower Adition as well (but it was the Sleeping Flower Virus). This left us with one experience Survivor and two others.

We went off on the hunt with the three of good Survivors we had and the one who could not use Fighting Arts. We decided to hunt a Screaming Antelope. We took a LOT of event damage during the hunt and during the Showdown, our most experienced survivor lost a leg. But other than that we were fine until the Settlement event. We were invaded by little spiders. we did to get enough victories to defend against them which lead to four of our Survivors dying. This left us with only three survivors.

We could have tried to continue as we did have a Love Juice to help make another survivor, but we realised with what happened last time we would not make in past another year. So we decided to give up on this Settlement and start again. The next day at home, I jokingly rolled for the Intimacy event and got a "1" and a "3". As we were "Protect the Young", we would have been able to choose which of the two results we rolled. A "1" would have meant both survivors would have dying leaving us with one survivor, while a "3" would have meant that our remaining female would have died leaving us with only two male survivors again.

I have finally set up a Facebook chat (not group at the moment) so we can work out what campaign we will do next, what expansions we will use and what Monsters we will hunt. I might set up a small Facebook Group for both my Kingdom Death Monster groups. It would make it easier to share information, help get both groups interacting with each other and help people interested in joining can interact wth the groups too.

Next week

On Friday I maybe playing Kingdom Death Monster at Simon's, on Monday something that I have not planned yet at Wargames Workshop MK and on Thursday I should be playing HeroClix.

That is it for this week's post. Until all are one with the Lantern-Spark.
