Neoscream's Life: 22nd to 28th April 2013

MRX-010 Psyco Gundam Mark II
Welcome to the Neoscream's Life post. This is a weekly post of some of the things I have done last week and news on stuff from Crooked Dice Games, Mantic Game and the Geek Goddess AJ Lee.

On Saturday a small group of us had a meal to celebrate Roxi's birthday. By small group I mean me Richard and Roxi. Darren H could not make it as he was doing over time for his work. We cannot blame him as he was earning £35 an hour for this over time. We had a meal at ASK Italian and then we went to the cinema to watch Iron Man 3.

Also on Saturday before going out me and Roxi completed the story line of Skylanders on co-op mode and played some Boarderlands. On Skylanders I have now gained all of Sprocket's upgrades.

During the week I managed to find an A+ Certification course from Milton Keynes Collage that start at the end of September. I plan on doing it. This will most likely affect the blog when it starts. It will meanly affect the Neoscream's Life post as the course is on a Tuesday.

With the introduction of Deadzone I have decided to change this section from just DreadBall to everything Mantic. First off, DreadBall. On Thursday Mantic finally began shipping the second shipment. Everything should all be shipped out by the end of this week. Remembering how they ship out stuff in the first shipment us in the UK will be having our stuff ship us the end of this week.  So at a guess I will not be getting it until early to middle of next week. They also revealed that they are in the middle of tooling the Season Three production moulds. Oh and it looks like there will be no Orky in the second shipment. Next is Loka. The survey for the KickStarter has been sent out and I have filled in mine. I was at Rook level which I chose the Ice set and I added the Queen of the 5th Element to it. Lastly I move onto the Deadzone Mantic news. I learnt at Salute that states and dice rolling will work like DreadBall, you roll X number of dice with a target number being the state. However I learnt this week that it will be using D8s (eight sided dice) instead of D6s (standard six sided dice). I really like the move to D8. The KickStarter for Deadzone started on Friday at 1:30PM and made its original goal in just 33 minutes. WOW. I have gone for scout level. I have been enjoying painting the DreadBall stuff from the Striker level from its Kickstarter, but did I really need all those teams and MVPs. Truthfully no. Maybe just one team from each season plus several MVPs would have served better. So I will just go for one team with Deadzone and get whatever add-ons I need for them. I was planning on going for Enforcers starter force, but the Rebels have won me over with the Survey Drones and the Teraton. I am also thinking on getting same scenery from add-ons if they will do them as add-ons. Shame you cannot choose which of the two teams you get Recon level or I would have gone with that and chose Enforcers and Rebels. During the weekend the extra goals that were unlocked were: An alternate two Scenery Sprues, two Specialist figure for each starter force, two Support figures for each starter force and a Mercenary Character called The Survivor in Recon level and above. Survivor is a Limited Edition figure like the MVP Limited Edition from DreadBall. The active goals when I went to bed on Sunday night was to get another alternate Scenery Sprue and an extra scenery Sprue for Recon level and above at £250,000.

Next is Crooked Dice Games news. Sadly the only bit of news I have is that there are painted images of the three new United Radionics characters that are coming out next month.

Now for the RoboTech: RPG Tactics news. The KickStarter is going well. As you can see below I have upped my plague to Battle Cry so I will have the starter set the two KickStarter exclusives (Rick Hunter's and Roy Fokker's Valkyries) and a bunch of extra stuff (three Valkyries, one Valkyrie upgraded pack, nine Battlepods, one Officer’s Battlepod, one Reconnaissance Battlepod and art work). Due to money I am trying to avoid the add-ons, but I would really love to get more Destroids and the big old Mk2 Monster. This week the extra goals that were unlocked were: Roy Fokker Valkyrie, a Reconnaissance Battlepod in the Starter set, an extra Officer’s Battlepod in Battle Cry, an extra Reconnaissance Battlepod in Battle Cry, Mk II Monster, replaced the twelve standard dice in the Starter with twelve Zentraedi Faction dice, an extra Gnerl Fighter in the Gnerl Fighter add-on and Support Battlepods. The active goals when I went to bed on Sunday night was two extra standard Destroids to the starter set at $430,000, add both the Spartan and Phalanx Destroids to Battle Cry at 2,200 backers, replacing the cardboard templates with plastic ones is the Starter set at 2,400 backers and adding two Support Battlepods to Battle Cry at 2,600 backers.

Now for what AJ Lee has been up to this past week. AJ appeared twice on Raw last week. The first time was when she and Big E Langston were supporting the World Heavyweight Champion Dolph Ziggler in his match against Chris Jericho. It was a long and good match, but Dolph won that match. Before the second time AJ appeared on Raw, Big E had his second ever singles match. Both Dolph and AJ did not come out to support him Big E destroyed his opponent Zack Ryder. The Next time we see AJ was in a Diva Battle Royal for number one contender for the Divas Championship. She was up against Naomi, Layla, Aksana and Tamina Snuka and won. Hippy.

On NXT this week which I did not see, AJ hsd s match against Kaitlyn for the Divas Championship. Now is this THE title match or not I do not know. Sadly Kaitlyn got her first ever win against AJ. BOO Kaitlyn must have cheated BOO.

Sadly due to some unknown problem, the Sky box did not record last week's Smackdown. Luckily AJ was not on Smackdown this week.

We now move on to the Watch, Listen and Read section of the blog post:

Cosplay Deviants: 22nd to 28th April 2013

Starcy in "Great Power"
Welcome the Cosplay Deviants post, this is where I post PG rated previews of the week’s sets from the site Cosplay Deviant and sometime talk a bit about them too.

On Monday there was a new set from the new male deviant Starcy. The set is called Great Power and in it he cosplays as Spiderman/Peter Packer from Marvel comics.

Bear
Bear in "Waterside"

On Wednesday there was a video from the deviant Bear. The set is called Waterside and in it she cosplays as Misty from Pokémon. It has been a LONG time since the last video.

Princess
Bubblegum
from
Adventure Time
SallySparrow (I think) in "P-Buds"

On Saturday there was a new set from the deviant (at a guess) SallySparrow. The set is called P-Buds and in it she cosplays as Princess Bubblegum from Adventure Time.

And now finally this week’s Cosplay Cards section. This week I have updated the Cosplay Cards for Bear and SallySparrow.

Until next time, Armour Up.

MK HeroClix: 25th April - Armoured Prizes

HeroClix Marvel Iron Man 3
Welcome to the MK HeroClix post. This is a weekly post with HeroClix news and results of Thursday's HeroClix game at MK Wargames Society at York House. This week there were previews of Bucker, Aquaman, Cyborg, Green Lantern and The Flash from DC Teen Titans; Red Robin and Grymm from DC Teen Titans Gravity Feed; Ringwraith and King of Angmar from the Lord of the Rings Fellowship of the Ring; and Obnoxio the Clown, Gentleman Ghost and a duo figure of Superman, Wonder Woman and Old Man Logan from the 2013 Conventions Exclusives. Also on HeroClix news, with no real promotion the Iron Man 3 Gravity Feed and Starter (still with 2012 rules) were released this week. I have ordered a case of the Gravity Feed and the Starter. Sadly there is a delay on the case due to stock level as I ordered it this week as I did not know it was up for pre-order yet. This should be a great set for me with tons of Iron Man Armours. (While I was finishing writing this post both the Starter set and Marquee figure arrived in the post. Sweet!)

This week’s game was 400 points, one figure must be a prize support figure. As Roxi was coming to HeroClix, I had to make two teams. The team I used was a Monster theme team who were:

Toxin (103 Marvel Web of Spiderman) 57
Iron Man (055 Marvel Mutations and Monsters) 70
Frankenstein's Monster (010 Marvel Amazing Spiderman) 65
Dinah Soar (012 Marvel Chaos War) 25
Baron Blood (089 Marvel Fantastic Forces) 95
Blade (004 Marvel Amazing Spiderman) 85
=397 points and two re-rolls.

Roxi's team was a Hellfire Club team who were:

Norman Osborn (201 Marvel Fantastic Forces) 99
Daimon Hellstrom (009 Marvel Amazing Spiderman) 113
White Queen (008 Marvel HeroClix 10th Anniversary) 62
Sage (032 Marvel Supernova) 60
Harry Leland (020 Marvel Giant-Size X-Men) 53
Hellfire Guard (004 Marvel Ultimates) 11
=398 points and four re-rolls.

On the first round I was up against Roxi, Darren was up against Michael and Adrian had the bye. I won my game against Roxi and Darren won his game against Michael. On the second round I was up against Darren, Roxi was up against Adrian and Michael had the bye. Darren's team was a Legion of Monsters themed team who were:

Daimon Hellstrom (009 Marvel Amazing Spiderman) 66
Werewolf by Night (015 Marvel Amazing Spiderman) 81
Ghost Rider (046 Marvel Amazing Spiderman) 145
Franken-Castle (101 Marvel Amazing Spiderman) 102
=394 points and four re-rolls.

Darren's team quickly white washed my team and Roxi won his game. On the third round Darren was up against Adrian, Roxi was up against Michael and I had the bye. Darren beat Adrian in next to no time. So me and Adrian got a game in while Roxi and Michael were still playing. Adrian was using a non themed DC team who were:

Prince Brion Markov (213 DC Collateral Damage) 116
Hawkman (093 DC Legacy) 115
Klarion (011 DC Crisis) 76
Tornado Tyrant (212 DC Collateral Damage) 92
=399 points and no re-rolls.

When our timer finished I just managed to win by one victory point. Also Roxi won his game against Michael. Sadly that was all we had time for. As I never play against Michael I sadly do not know his full team. I remember seeing The Batman of Zur-En-Arrh, Azrael and Dick Grayson all from DC Batman.

Next week's game should be Iron Man 3. 800 points, four actions, you must have an Iron Man. Until next time, Armour Up.

Robotech RPG Tactics Gameplay Demo

Neoscream's Life: 15th to 21st April 2013 - Salute 2013 News Special

MRX-009 Psyco Gundam

Welcome to the Neoscream's Life post. This is a weekly post of some of the things I have done last week and news on stuff from Crooked Dice Games, DreadBall and the Geek Goddess AJ Lee.

On Tuesday I got a phone call from Roxi. Roxi will be back for a week from this Tuesday.  It will be good seeing Roxi again. There are plans for a get together for Roxi's birthday on Saturday and Roxi should be at HeroClix this week as well.

A little update on the Ministry Building. The new knife I got works like a dream. However the knife in a bit too big for work on my models so I might need to look for a different knife for them at Salute. Also Amera Plastic Mouldings notice last week's post and very kindly refunded the postage and packing. Which I spent on them at Salute on a pre-order.

As I have been posting about it all weekend, I will not be talking about Salute 2013 outside the gaming news sections. I Have been saving all this news for today. However I will say, as you may have noticed from the pictures from yesterdays "Model Painting" post and Sunday's Salute wrap up post that I never saw any HeroClix at Salute.

Now for the DreadBall news. I will be splitting it into two parts. Pre and post Salute 2013. First off is the per Salute. A list of what we should be getting in the second shipment has been posted. Here is what they said:
The DreadBall Stadium from Amera Plastic Mouldings
"The four Season 2 teams: The Void Sirens (Female Team), the Pelgar Mystics (Judwan Team), the Chromium Chargers (Robot Team) and the Locust City Chiefs (Z’zor Team). (This applies to teams added to your pledge as well as the free models included as part of your reward level. Note that Striker backers who have bought the Season 1 and/or 2 Upgrade Packs will have 10 players for each team – the remaining 6 and the prone figures are alternate sculpts and will come later.)
A whole host of new MVPs: Buzzcut, Mee-kel Judwan, Anne-Marie Helder, Rico van Dien, DBR-7 Firewall, Ludwig and Gabe.
The Cheerleaders and Coaches.
DreadBall cases - we're hoping to get the customisable inlays completed by the time they ship, but if not you'll receive a download link as soon as they are.
Any of the following additional items that were ordered as part of your pledge: Co-Prosperity Park, Quadrant Zero Stadium, Acrylic Pitch Upgrades, Season 1 rulebooks, team dice, hex bases, DreadBall cards, Referees, decal sheets and t-shirts."
The Asterians, their MVP Mellisandra, the two Limited Edition MVPs and Painmaster are all not listed.  Mantic have stated in the comments that the two Limited Edition MVPs (Wyn and Nightshade) were always apart of the Season Two extras hence why they will not be shipping in the second shipment. Also there is no word on Orcy. Is he shipping too or not or has he been scrapped. I will try to get these questions answered at Salute. On Friday it was revealed that Amera Plastic Mouldings will be taking pre-orders a Salute for a new item they have revealed. A DreadBall Stadium to put your DreadBall patch in. Sweet.  Got to get me one of them at Salute.

The Teratons. This is not a photo I took.
Now for the post Salute DreadBall news. Talking to the Mantic guy s at Salute has majorly settled any worries I had with the KickStarter. Painmaster is suffering the same problems as Buzzcut did with the first shipment so he will be delayed until the next shipment. The Asterians and their MVP should have been pushed back to the third shipment when they did the extra bits for Season One and Two, but never were publicly. Also Mantic have a lot more figures sculpted than they have been revealing like the Teratons (A season three team) who were at Salute. It is just that they have not have time to produce mass production moulds yet. The Teratons look awesome and I am glad I sm getting a team of them. Oh and Orky will be s Mantic points and maybe convention only figure. Sadly I forgot to ask if he is coming out with the second shipment or the third as we have not seen him yet and he was not in the DreadBall Stadium. Maybe Golem Painting Studio are still painting him? Oh and Mantic are waiting for Penny Arcade to approve the rules for the MVP Gabe, which is the reason why we do not have rules for him at the moment.

The Deadzone Plague Lord. Again, this is not one of my
photos.
Before I move onto the Crooked Dice Games news I would like to talk about a new game from Mantic that is being designed by Jake Thornton called Deadzone. This is a squad based skirmish game like Infinity and Necromunda based on Warpath. Three out of the four starting groups in Deadzone are the Plague (zombie mutants), the Enforcers and the Rebels. How campaigns will most likely work is that the squad will gain extra resources to use than gaining experience. There will be a KickStarter starting on Friday. Crap, another KickStarter that will eat my money.

Now for the Crooked Dice Games news. Not much to report about this week. The Villain guides are still being worked on and the physical book will most likely come out sometime at the end of the year or the beginning of next year. They normally plans for the year after Salute ends. So there may be some big news with in the next couple of weeks. At Salute I managed to get the time to get a demo of 7th Voyage. Both my and my opponent's dice rolls sucked, but my opponent won the game still. The rule improvements they have done for 7th Voyage were great.

Now let us talk about a new KickStart that started last week, RoboTech RPG Tactics. It is a miniatures game using mecha from the original Macross series. It can be used with or without Palladium Books RoboTech RPG. This could be the mecha game I have always wanted, well Gundam or Code Geass would have been better choice but that is life. I am currently on the New Dawn level, but I plan on upping it to Battle Cry. With this and Deadzone I might need to rethink starting Warmachine. Well we will see. I might just go with a team for Deadzone and bits to back it up. Also because of the KickStarter I keep on humming Firebomber song. I am going to have to add an electric guitar to a red Valkyrie.

AJ and Dolph Ziggler in Paris, the city
of LOVE.
Now for what AJ Lee has been up to this past week. AJ was on Raw this week support the World Heavyweight Champion Dolph Ziggler with the help of Big E Langston. Dolph was originally meant to face Alberto Del Rio in a title match, but Jack Swagger attacked Del Rio re-injuring his anchal. A non title match was made later between Swagger and Dolph which Swagger won. So a triple threat title match was made for Extreme Rules. AJ was not on Smackdown this week, but she has been supporting Dolph on a ton of house shows.

We now move on to the Watch, Listen and Read section of the blog post:

Terrain and Salute 2013 Model Painting Special

Welcome to the Model Painting post. This post will normally happen on a Monday, however if I am busy for some reason I will be doing it on a Wednesday instead. This week I  have for this post old Game Workshop ruins, Quick Painting Contest, goods from Salute and the working table.

OK, first off the standard side of the post. This week I have the start of the work I am doing with terrain. This first terrain set I have painted some old Games Workshop ruins and bit I have had for years.

OK now to the Salute special stuff. First off is the Quick Painting Contest. I was in the 1:30PM session. The rules were we have 45 minutes to paint and Warmachine or Hordes figure they provide using the paints and brushes they provide. The paints were the P3 paints and the models my session used was a Cygnar Trencher Infantry from Warmachine. They were missing their backpacks, the Figure (but not the base) was undercoated white and was flaked (I think that is the right term) to hell. The top three painted figures would win a their choose of a Warmachine or Hordes booster and will be on the finals to try to win a Colossal figure. I was not really use to there paint, painting on while and painting such a flaked up figure really made painting feel unconformable. I did not get into the top three so I did not win anything, but I do get to keep the figure I painted. Here are some pictures for it and from the contest. Warning, half of these pictures are from the Salute posts.

The unpainted figure
All the entries from by session
I plan on removing the flak and tidying him up at a later date. I might use him as a character called Mandriod for a 7TV team. Now for the picture of what I got at Salute. OK, this is not everything. A chunk of the stuff are in the next picture.

Lastly here is a picture of stuff I am working on, including the pre-painted Doctor Who figures who are waiting to be put away into my case.

Next week I will be doing the eight and final Super Dungeon Explore group that I am doing. Well until next time, Armour Up.

Sunday 21 April 2013

Cosplay Deviants: 15th to 21st April 2013

Gumi from Vocaloid
Miss Bunni in "Matryoshka"

Welcome the Cosplay Deviants post, this is where I post PG rated previews of the week’s sets from the site Cosplay Deviant and sometime talk a bit about them too.

On Monday there was a new set from the new deviant Miss Bunni. The set is called Matryoshka and in it she cosplays as Gumi from Vocaloid based on the Matryoshka video. Gumi is my favourite Vocaloid, but that is because her voice was based off one my two favourite J-Pop singers Nakajima Megumi (the other being Faylan). Here is the video of Matryoshka.

Domi is "Pro Bender"
Korra from Avatar: The Legend of Korra

On Wednesday there was a new set from the deviant Domi. The set is called Pro Bender and in it she cosplays as Korra from Avatar: The Legend of Korra. Domi customs are great.

BB Hood from Darkstalkers
MarieJane is "Dark Hunter"

On Saturday there was a new set from the deviant MarieJane. The set is called Dark Hunter and in it she cosplays as BB Hood from Darkstalkers.

And now finally this week’s Cosplay Cards section. This week I have done a new Cosplay Cards for Domi and Pro Bender was her third set.

Until next time, Armour Up.

Tales of Salute 2013, Part Eleven - Wrap Up

Hi all again, it is the morning after Salute 2013. You might have noticed I slightly edited the posts last night. Sadly the Blogger app is not that great (too me) with posting good posts. In fact the pictures were all mixed up from the order I took them. Sadly this will be a nightmare to fix so I never fix them. Sadly I felt too embarrassed to take a picture of the Cheerleaders at the Mantic stand, but here is a picture of the posted on Twitter by Mantic. Might use the colour scheme on my DreadBall Cheerleader figures. I will leave all the Mantic and Crooked Dice Games news until Tuesday's Neoscream's Life post. It was mostly a great day. The only down fouls of the day was spilling paint down myself and the train journey back home (which was the reason the tenth post was so short). OK let break down want I picked up at Salute.
  • The Salute 2013 exclusive figure, the Official Show Guide and Salute 2013 Dice in the free goody bag.
  • A Salute 2013 mug, mug mat and five extra dice.
  • There was my pre-order from Crooked Dice Game that contains The Minion Starter pack (I found that there was an error in the packing, however it was a fine one for me. They give a second pack of Minions with Batons and Pistols instead of Minion Specialist I), a pack of Scientists and the psychical copy of the Heroes Programme Guide.
  • I also picked up from Crooked Dice Games on the day the Cards and Counters for the Heroes Programme Guide and a pick of Fighting Men heads.
  • Mantic were giving away to KickStarters want KickStarter stuff they have. So I got my Female Corporation team, the psychical copy of the Season Two rulebook, Mee-Kel Judwan, Jonathan "Gabe" Gabriel and all the Hex Bases I ordered.
  • I also add the Coaches to my KickStarter.
  • Issues 259 and 307 Wargames Illustrated, both with free figures.
  • A pack of four DarkRealm Miniatures HV0007 Javelin Light Hoverscouts.
  • Two Assault T-Synths.
  • Four Wargames Foundry from their pick and mix.
  • Four Suits figures for Em4Miniuters.
  • Three painted Doctor Who figures from Painted-Miniature.com
  • A D-06 Robot with Security Upgrade.
  • Shadowforge Miniatures Priscilla Welstakt Referee.
  • HFH030 Miranda and HFH064 Delphine from Hasslefree Minitures.
  • I pre-ordered the DreadBall Stadium from Amera Plastic Moulding.
Well that is it for now. I will talk more about the Quick Painting Contest in tomorrows Model Painting post. Until next time, Armour Up.

Update - I forgot to say I got a demo game of 7th Voyage and chatted to Jake Thornton, the creator of DreadBall and the up and coming Deadzone.

Tales of Salute 2013, Part Ten - Heading back to Milton Keynes

As I am posting this I will be on the train back home to Milton Keynes. A super packed train. By the look of it there is a ton of drunk people from a game. So I cannot really type much. Until next post, Armour Up.

Tales of Salute 2013, Part Nine - The End

Well Salute was great and I got a lot of great stuff that I will talk about on the way home. The only problem I have is that at the end of the painting competition the stuff say to close all the paint pots to everyone so that they would not spill paint on their clothes and I ended up spilling the pot of white paint over myself while trying to close it. BEEP, BEEP, BEEP! Lucky my Iron Man hoody did not get any on it and the stuff on my jacket wiped of easily. However I do not think I can save the rest. Well I better start on the long journey home. So on wards to the DLR. I will post again on the train.

Until next post, Armour Up.
